中国の化学物質規制のうち、環境水(地表水)に対する国家環境保全基準地表水環境基準”GHZB I-1999を紹介した。同基準では、40項目の化学物質について環境基準が示されており、日本における規制状況と比較した。また、同基準に示された分析方法などに基づいて、両国における化学物質分析体制の現況について比較したところ、日本ではGC/MSが主流であるのに対して、中国ではGCが主流であると考えられた。WTO加盟などの国際化の動きに伴い中国では化学物質規制が重要となってきており、これをささえるための分析体制や研究体制などについて把握することが、今後の両国の関係を考える上で重要となる。そこで、2001年5月並びに7月に訪中した際に、北京市、黒龍江省及び四川省で訪問した機関について整備している機器の状況や聞き取り調査の概要をあわせて報告した。
