本研究は、1650～1750 年のドイツ・プロテスタント地域における教会音楽に関する神学的論争について、包括的に研究しようとするものである。本研究では、まず基礎資料の収集と整理を行い、当時の神学と音楽関連についての歴史的ドキュメントの包括的資料データベースを作成した。その上で、重要資料の分析例を提示し、正統主義と敬虔主義の音楽に対する態度の関連、宗教音楽の社会史意味についていくつかの仮説を提示した。
