本研究は、事業構造の再構築を「組織能力の再構築」として捉え、そのために必要な組織能力を明確化すると同時に、復活に貢献するコアとなる能力要因を明らかにすることが目的である。そこで、組織能力に関する文献研究、停滞傾向にある企業を組織能力の再構築によって復活する過程のケース研究を行い、日本の上場企業を対象として組織能力に関するアンケート調査を実施した。また、日中韓企業の組織能力比較を試みるために、ＩＴ企業群、中国企業、韓国企業を訪問してインタビュー調査を行い、日中韓企業の組織能力特性を定性的、定量的に比較した。
