臨床的に筋炎症状に乏しい皮膚筋炎（C-ADM）に見出された抗CADM-140 抗体の対応抗原がMDA5 (Melanoma Differentiation-Associated Gene 5)であることを明らかにし，同抗体測定ELISAを確立した．同抗体陽性例は，急速進行性間質性肺炎(RP-ILD)を有意に併発していた．今回の研究成果は，予後不良のRP-ILD併発C-ADMの早期診断に有用で，予後の改善につながることが期待される．
