大規模なヒト赤血球代謝シミュレーションモデルを用いて生理的条件下でのアデノシンに対する赤血球代謝応答の再現を行った。その結果、アデノシンを大量に取り込むことで却って総ATP量が低下する事、低酸素時にはヘモグロビンのT-state遷移に応答した解糖系活性化が補償的に働くことで、細胞外アデノシン増加によるATP量の減少が抑えられる事が予測され、メタボローム解析によって実証された。更に、シミュレーションモデルを用いた高速かつ低コストなスクリーニングによる保存条件の最適化を目指し、MAP低温保存赤血球の長期間での代謝動態を定量的に再現し得るモデルを作成した。
