唾液中には生理活性を有する遊離型ステロイドホルモンが血中から分泌され、高感度な液体クロマトグラフィー・タンデム質量分析(LC-MS/MS)法のみで測定可能である。肥満思春期女児、健常非肥満思春期女児の唾液中アンドロゲン分泌について比較検討した。DHEA、アンドロステンジオンとテストステロンは非肥満群に比較し、肥満群において有意に高かった。肥満思春期女児において非肥満思春期女児と比較しアンドロゲン分泌が亢進していると考えられる。
