ヒトでは新生児肺には切除後の再生現象がみられる一方で、成人肺ではほとんど再生は起こらないことが知られている。本研究では、肺の再生能を規定する因子として、とくに肺胞上皮幹細胞に注目し、齧歯類を用いた遺伝子発現プロファイルの比較から、幹細胞の組織再生能を規定する新規制御因子の同定を試みた。マウス肺の肺切除後代償性肺再生モデルを用いて、再生中の肺から肺胞上皮幹細胞を抽出し、cDNAライブラリー作製しPCRアレイで解析した。
