本研究は、抗血小板薬の薬効と関連することが過去の研究で示唆された既知の因子(血漿中物質、血小板や他の血球、造血前駆細胞中の因子)や未知の因子の中から抗血小板薬のモニタリングに有効な因子を探索し実際の臨床検査に応用することを目的とした。その為に抗血小板薬服用患者あるいは幹細胞から血小板へのin vitro培養にて得るサンプルを対象にした候補因子アプローチや網羅的解析を行った。いずれの解析においても抗血小板薬アスピリンの薬効に関連する因子としてglycocalicinとして知られる血小板膜受容体のひとつのGPIb alphaの細胞外ドメイン切断フラグメントとの関連が認められた。しかし血漿中のglycocalicinを多くのサンプル数に対して簡便に定量測定出来る方法が存在していなかった為、glycocalicinを認識するペプチド抗体を作成、それを用いた新たなglycocalicin測定系の開発を行った。
