脳卒中後の片麻痺歩行では、非麻痺側下肢の代償が絶えず機能している。麻痺肢の機能回復を図るには、その代償を抑制した歩行訓練が有効であると考えられる。そこで模擬義足を非麻痺側下肢に適用した歩行訓練の治療効果を検証した。10日間の義足歩行訓練は、麻痺肢によって身体を推進する床反力成分を増大させ、１分間の歩数や最大歩行速度を改善させた。非麻痺肢の大腿筋群と下腿筋群における立脚期の同時収縮も改善したことから、片麻痺歩行を機能的に再構築する手段としての有用性が示唆された。
