我々が開発した婦人科癌特異的なヒトモノクローナル抗体HMMC-1は、ヒト子宮体癌細胞に対して抗腫瘍活性を持つ。HMMC-1抗原解析の結果、少なくとも糖タンパク質CD166であることが判明し、CD166分子上の糖鎖が抗体の機能を担っていることが示唆された。HMMC-1抗原糖鎖は硫酸化修飾を受けており、CD166分子上の糖鎖に付加している硫酸基がHMMC-1の抗腫瘍活性に関与していることが推定された。
