RNA結合蛋白質Musashi(Msi)は、Robo3 mRNAに結合し、その翻訳を促進した。また、Msi欠損マウスの小脳前核ニューロンでは、Robo3蛋白質の発現量が顕著に減少した。さらに、Msi欠損マウスでは、Robo3欠損マウスと同じく、小脳前核ニューロンの軸索の正中線交差に著しい異常が認められた。本研究結果から、小脳前核ニューロンの軸索の正中線交差では、MsiによるRobo3 mRNAの翻訳制御が重要であることが示された。
