本研究は、免疫性血小板減少症(ITP)の新規マウスモデルを作製し、それを用いて免疫病態を評価することでITPの病態メカニズムに基づいた新規治療法を確立することを目的とした。獲得免疫を制御する制御性T細胞(Treg)を欠損したマウスを作製し、その血小板動態を検討した。その結果、ITPの病態形成におけるTregの重要性が示され、それらを標的とした治療がITPに対する新たな治療法となりえることが考えられた。
