大脳皮質神経細胞の移動過程に注目し、まずは辺縁帯直下で移動終了過程にある細胞に強く発現する遺伝子を多数同定した。また、いくつかの分子について層形成や細胞動態における機能を見いだした。さらに、脳室帯で誕生した神経細胞と脳室下帯/中間帯で誕生した神経細胞とでは移動プロファイルが全く異なることを見いだした。前者は、脳室下帯とオーバーラップする部位で一時的に長時間滞留することを発見し、多極性細胞蓄積帯と命名した。
