我々の研究班は、2007年頃までに難溶性インジウム化合物微細粒子吸入と「インジウム肺」と呼ばれる肺障害の因果関係を確立した。2008～2010年は、17事業場・4本社機構をのべ50回訪問し、インジウム曝露群と対照群約700名の追跡調査を実施した結果、インジウム曝露指標、呼吸器影響指標ともに減少傾向が観察された。配置転換・作業環境改善・保護具着用という労働衛生管理がうまく機能した結果と考えられる。
