健康な青壮年男性が夜間就寝中に突然死亡する、原因不明の病態であるポックリ病症候群は、日本や東南アジアに多発するとされてきた。今回、実際に、現地の医師と共同で剖検所見などを検討して、Lai-Taiと呼ばれるタイの突然死例が日本のそれと同様の実態であることを明らかにした。また、これらの症例の脂質解析においても、日本と同様の傾向が示唆された。我々の日本国内の症例解析の結果では、Brugada症候群が含まれている可能性がみいだされ、現在解析を進めている。
