本研究では, 地震動を受ける構造物が, 健全な状態(弾性変形)から塑性変形, 終局限界状態を経て崩壊に至る一連の過程をばらつきも含めて予測可能な解析手法を提案した. 具体的には, (1)破壊現象に適した解析手法, PDS-FEM を三次元動的弾塑性解析ツールとして整備, (2)並列化による計算効率の向上, (3)崩壊に至る過程のモンテカルロ・シミュレーション, を行った.また, 計算結果の検証のための計測装置として, 時刻同期稠密機動センサネットワークを開発した.
