国際貿易が国内労働者の所得に与える影響については、日本の製造業を例に、1990年代後半から2000年代前半のデータを使い、最終財や中間投入財の輸入を対象に調べた。その結果、企業による中間投入財の輸入の増加は男性高卒労働者の賃金を引き下げ、女性高卒労働者の賃金を引き上げるという結果が得られた。また、国際投資による経営資源や技術の国際移転については、アメリカ、イギリス、スウェーデン、フィンランドの経営資源や技術の収益率が高く、またそれらの無形資産の受け手も生産性向上の利益を得ていた。
