イソジチロシン型天然有機化合物に共通するジアリールエーテル部位の効率的な構築法としてハロゲン化フェノールの陽極酸化反応を鍵反応とする方法論を展開し、ユーリパミドの環化反応の最適化、ジアリールヘプタノライド類の合成、メチルタリブリンの合成を行った。また、有機電気化学の汎用性の拡充を目指して、電気化学的に発生させた超原子価ヨウ素試薬を活用するキノリノン類の合成、およびそれを重要中間体とするテトラヒドロピロロイミノキノンアルカロイド類の合成を行った。さらに、アミノジアリール類に同様の酸化を施すことでカルバゾール類の効率的な合成を達成した。一方、メタノール中BDD電極によるメトキシラジカルの発生を実証するとともにネオリグナン類の生成機構に検討を加えた。
