B細胞の分化・活性化を制御するCD40やToll様受容体のシグナル伝達を担うTRAF6は、B細胞において個体の適切な液性免疫応答を惹起するのに必要であるばかりでなく、特定のB細胞分化にも必須であることが明らかになった。一方、サイトカインシグナルの制御因子であるSOCS1は、IL-4/STAT6シグナルを抑制し過剰なIgE産生を抑えることで個体のアレルギー感受性を制御していることが明らかになった。
