神経膠腫において、治療効果や生命予後と相関し客観性のある分類を構築するため、CGH(comparative genomic hybridization)法による腫瘍染色体解析とMGMTなど予後因子の解析を、全神経膠腫症例に対して、prospectiveに日常的に継続した。その結果、grade 2-3神経膠腫において、染色体異常により予後と相関する分類がなされること、小児神経膠腫において特定の染色体異常が組織型よりも予後と相関すること、などを論文報告した。また、化学療法感受性(1p/19q 欠失あり)神経膠腫に対する化学療法先行治療を継続し、特に化学療法による腫瘍縮小後の根治切除は8例で行われ、神経膠腫に対するneoadjuvant approachの安全性、有用性が確認されつつある(学会報告)。
