ドナー由来線維芽細胞の細胞源を検討するためマウスGVHDモデルを用いた。培養を経ずに新鮮間葉系幹細胞(MSC)(Morikawa S, J Exp Med)及び新鮮造血幹細胞(HSC)(Matsuzaki Y, Immunity, 2004)を採取して移植し検討した。ミスマッチMSC移植では自己MSC移植に比較し、涙腺、肝臓、唾液腺、などに全骨髄細胞移植と同様の進行性の線維化を認めた。ドナーHSP47+GFP+MSCの集積についても慢性GVHD線維化部位で確認した。これらの結果はドナー由来ミスマッチMSCがドナー由来線維芽細胞の細胞源であり、慢性GVHDの線維化形成にかかわる可能性を示した。
