本研究において口腔粘膜に生じる難治性自己免疫疾患である尋常性天疱瘡の自己抗体の解析を行った。その結果、天疱瘡には様々な病原性を有する自己抗体が存在する事をモノクローナルなレベルで確認した。また、自己免疫疾患における自己免反応性IgM抗体の詳細を解析するために、IgMクラスの天疱瘡モノクローナル抗体を作製し、IgMクラスの自己抗体には明らかな病原性がないことを確認した。これらは天疱瘡発症機序を解明する上で重要な知見となる。
