子宮内膜症は疼痛・不妊・悪性腫瘍の発症など、女性のリプロダクティブヘルスへの影響が大きい疾患である。本研究では、子宮内膜症の発症および疼痛発現に関与する機序の一部を明らかにすることを目的として研究を行った。子宮内膜症の疼痛発症と腹水中のNGF濃度を検討し、子宮内膜症の発症とNGF濃度は関連性が見いだせなかったが、子宮内膜症患者における疼痛強度と腹水中NGF濃度は関連性があることが示唆された。また、リポオキシゲナーゼ関連遺伝子群の子宮内膜症病巣における挙動の検討から、5-LOXと15-LOXが子宮内膜症病巣に高発現を認めることが検出された。
