本研究では胎内プログラミングによる腎発育異常におけるmTOR (The mammalian target of rapamycin)経路の役割の解明する。母体低栄養、ステロイド投与によりラット胎児の新生児早期後腎は大きさ、糸球体の数共に有意に減少した。これら後腎の遺伝子および蛋白発現の網羅的解析で、mTOR経路を含む多くの遺伝子・蛋白の発現の変化を確認し、免疫組織染色、ウエスタンブロットでもmTOR経路の抑制を確認した。現在関連遺伝子のメチル化解析中であり、mTOR経路抑制から腎発生異常に至る機序の詳細はまだ検討中である。
