我々は癌幹細胞とEMTの関係に着目し、EMT誘導因子HOXB9や、TGFβの活性化によるEMTが乳癌癌幹細胞分画であるCD44(+)CD24(-)細胞分画の増加を誘導することを確認した。さらに、このTGFβ経路を抑制する薬剤を新規に検証し、EMTに伴うCD44(+)CD24(-)細胞分画の増加が抑制されることが確認された。
