オーストリア学派の始祖であるカール・メンガー(1840-1921)について、その伝記的情報を収集した。具体的には、ヴィーンに住んでからのメンガーの住所、そして彼自身の任官や給与に関わるような公的文書、さらにはメンガー筆の書評でハイエク版著作集には含まれていないものなどが主たる対象である。作業場所は、オーストリア国立文書館、オーストリア国立図書館、ヴィーン大学文書館、ヴィーン市・州文書館の四か所である。こうした作業の結果、将来メンガー伝を執筆するための基礎的資料の一部が確保できたと考えている。この間、2009年度と2011年度に、それぞれオーストラリア経済思想史学会と北米経済学史学会で、メンガーについての報告を行う機会を得た。
