FOPは筋肉や腱、靭帯、関節等が骨化する遺伝病である。本研究ではFOPの原因遺伝子であるACVR1や骨形成因子のBMP4を任意の時期、組織、細胞で強制発現させることのできるトランスジェニックメダカの作製と性状解析を試みた。内在性熱ショックタンパク質のプロモーターを利用したダブルトランスジェニックメダカ(hsp70b::Cre xDES::lGlBMP4)では熱ショック未処理の個体でもFOP様の表現型を示した。そこで、申請者が開発したデュアルプロモーター発現ベクターと人工熱ショックプロモーターを組み合わせたところ、熱ショック時のみにCreを発現するトランスジェニックメダカを作製できた。
