本研究の目的は、日本のミクロデータを活用し、日本の世帯内における資源配分(支出・余暇時間)が何によって規定されているかを実証研究することにある。過去、Jacob MincerやGary Beckerから始まるNew Home Economicsにおいては、一人の意思決定者(主稼得者)が、家計行動(消費、貯蓄など)の決定を司っていると仮定した(Unitary Model)。しかし近年、複雑化する家族行動、特に世帯内における意思決定問題を考察することは困難となり、各世帯員が各々の選好を保有することを想定した、Collective Model(Chiappori 1988; 1992)を想定した実証研究が増えている。本研究では、この手法を活かし、女性が所得源泉を持つようになった世帯で、わが国の有配偶世帯における資源(消費・時間)配分の構造に関する分析を行うことを目的とする。
