本研究では内因性心臓交感神経刺激細胞が神経堤由来であることを、P0-Cre x Floxed-GFPのダブルトランスジェニックマウスを用いて明らかにした。またin vivoでの検討において内因性心臓交感神経刺激細胞への増殖・分化を促進する因子を同定した。さらに移植マウスにおいて収縮力および心拍数増加が内因性心臓交感神経刺激細胞の発達と相関することを確認した。
