我々は、悪性黒色腫のSide Population(SP)分画に癌幹細胞様の性質を持つ集団が濃縮されていることを示してきた。本研究では、この癌幹細胞様集団が低酸素環境下において示す遺伝子変化を解析するとともに、癌幹細胞様集団に特異的に発現する癌精巣抗原に対する抗体が患者血清中に存在することを示した。さらに、この癌精巣抗原に由来するHLA-A*2402拘束性ペプチドの同定に成功した。以上の結果は、悪性黒色腫患者に対する癌幹細胞を標的とした新規免疫治療法の開発の重要な基礎データになると考えられる。
