工場や発電所などにおける配管内、特に曲がり官で発生する爆発事故を想定し、衝撃波を伴う燃焼波の特性について、実験とシュミレーションによって調査した。燃焼波の特徴ある伝播携帯は各種パラメタを変更することで調べられ、配管内部の圧力、化学組成、管の内径などへの依存性を明らかにした。曲がり部において多大なる圧力負荷が生じることや消えることなく伝播を維持する可能性が高いことが明らかになった。
