神経成長円錐内の細胞内シグナル伝達を解析するための蛍光イメージング手法と計算機シミュレーション法を新規に開発し、以下のような成果を得た。 (1)蛍光共鳴エネルギー移動(FRET)型センサーを用いることによりcAMP, cGMP,カルシウムイオン濃度を同時計測する新規な手法の開発に成功した。運動時の成長円錐内セカンドメッセンジャー濃度の局所変化を計測し、運動との関係を明らかにした。 (2)成長円錐内のセカンドメッセンジャー濃度変化をシミュレートすることに成功した。また成長円錐の形状と外部環境を二次元格子上に定義し、各々の格子点における微小時間でのセカンドメッセンジャー濃度変化を算出するシミュレータを実装した。
