本プロジェクトでは企業の生産性が企業間で異質なもとでの国際貿易、直接投資、新経済地理学の理論的、実証的分析を行った。研究の結果、企業の立地パターンや輸出行動において様々な自己選抜(セレクション)効果があることが分かり、さらに公共政策や貿易政策がこの効果に影響を与えることが分かった。グローバリゼーションが進展するもとでの、企業間の生産性格差や都市と地方の格差の拡大とその是正策を検証した。
