本研究では、当研究室で開発されたmRNAディスプレイ法を用いて、ヒト免疫不全ウイルス(HIV)侵入阻害剤の重要な標的となっているCCR5の第2細胞外ループを模倣した環状ペプチドに対して高い親和性を有するヒト化一本鎖抗体の試験管内進化をおこなった。その結果、VL鎖のCDR1に重複した変異をもつ、高親和性変異体が得られた。
