本研究では、脳腫瘍幹細胞(BCSC)における幹細胞制御分子の同定を目的として、分離BCSCを用いた網羅的な遺伝子発現比較解析を行った結果、新規のBCSC抗原KLRC2を同定した。さらに幹細胞制御分子スクリーニング解析を行った結果、BCSC増殖制御分子MIFを同定した。KLRC2およびMIFは、ともに正常脳組織で発現を認めず、一方、BCSCおよびグリオーマにおいて高発現しており、BCSCマーカーとして、さらにグリオーマ治療標的分子としてその有用性が期待される。
