本研究は、これまで申請者らが行ってきたマウス胎仔の皮膚再生現象の解析、マウス線維芽細胞の非接着培養による毛包誘導能の獲得の研究で得られた知見を基に、ヒト由来培養線維芽細胞およびヒト由来培養表皮角化細胞を用いて、皮膚付属器を含めた完全なヒトの皮膚を再生させることを目的とした。毛包、皮膚付属器を含めた完全な皮膚を再生させる至適培養条件を確立し、また、その分子機構についての解明を行った。
