我々は、Protease serine 35 (Prss35) のアカゲザル卵巣内発現およびその基質特異性を検討した。種々のアカゲザル組織検体を用いたRT-PCRでは、卵巣および精巣に強いPrss35mRNA発現を認めた。Real-time PCR解析では、卵巣内Prss35 mRNA発現は月経開始直後に比べ卵胞期に増加したが、排卵期のhCG投与後〜黄体期の発現レベルは低値であった。さらに前胞状・胞状卵胞の顆粒膜細胞を中心にPrss35 mRNA発現が観察された。卵巣周期に伴って局在と発現レベルが変化することから、Prss35は卵胞発育や排卵現象に関与している可能性が示唆された。
