「こまめに」と「まとまって」体を動かす指導の効果を、内臓脂肪・脂肪肝・筋肉内脂肪といった脂肪のつき方(体脂肪分布)に注目して検討した。前者は、減量効果に優れ、後者は、より体力向上効果が期待でき、結果として両者ともに内臓脂肪をはじめとした脂肪のつき方の改善につながる可能性が示唆された。ただし、肥満者・2型糖尿病者への適切な運動指導方法やどちらの指導がより有効か、そのメカニズムについてはさらに検討が必要と考えられた。
