燃焼ガス等の高温ガス中に添加された蛍光体微粒子にシート状の励起光を照射し, そこから得られる蛍光発光の温度依存性及び粒子挙動を検出することで温度及び速度の同時測定を可能とする新規測定法の開発を行なった. まず, 高温ガス中でも良好な蛍光発光の温度依存性が発現する新規な蛍光体微粒子の開発に取り組み, 蛍光発光中心物質の共添加により感温性能の高い蛍光体微粒子の創製に成功した. また, 蛍光体を実際に高温ガス流中に添加・分散させ, 温度及び速度測定が可能であることも示した.
