本研究では、ドセタキセル抵抗性ヒト前立腺癌細胞株C4-2AT6を用いてAKT-mTORシグナル阻害剤の有効性について検討した。AKT-mTORシグナル阻害剤とドセタキセルの併用はC4-2AT6に対して高い殺細胞効果を示した。また、C4-2AT6を用いて作成したマウス皮下腫瘍モデルにおいてもドセタキセルとの併用によって高い抗腫瘍効果を示した。これらの結果は、AKT-mTOR阻害剤がドセタキセル抵抗性前立腺癌におけるドセタキセル抵抗性改善に寄与する可能性を示唆した。
