生活習慣病に認められるドライアイの病態解明へ貢献することを目的に高脂肪食負荷マウス肥満モデルを用いてエネルギー代謝機構と涙液分泌の関連を検討した。その結果、6か月間の高脂肪食を摂取することにより涙液分泌量の減少が認められ、エネルギー代謝に関わっている遺伝子が減少傾向を示すことが明らかとなった。エネルギー代謝の変化による涙液分泌が変動する可能性を示唆する新たな知見が得られた。今後はこれら遺伝子の解析により涙液分泌に関わる新たな機構が明らかになることが予想され、非常に意義深いと考えられる。 Although several studies have reported that metabolic patients have an elevated incidence of dry eye disease, the mechanism responsible for dry eyes disease remains unclear. We investigated the secretion and metabolic changes occurring at 6 months in response to a high-fat diet (HFD). Tear secretion was decreased by the HFD compared to normal diet at 6 months. Additionally, metabolic gene decreased in the lacrimal glands of the HFD-fed mice. We also investigated the molecular mechanisms involved including metabolism genes. The results indicate that aging accelerated by the HFD is related to dry eye.
