観光地などのガイドマップは観光スポットや有名な店, お土産などの紹介が多く, どのガイドマップも非常に類似している。このことは, どこへ行っても同じという印象を人々に与えかねず, その場所へ行く動機を損ねてしまう問題があると言える。本稿ではこのような問題を解消し, 人々の動機の喚起につながるようなガイドマップ「MAPletter(マップレター)」を提案するとともに, その作成方法ならびに利用方法を紹介する。MAPletterはパターン•ランゲージという論理構造を利用して気持ちと場所をつなげたことで, その時の気分に適する場所を案内することができる。さらに, 論理構造により生まれた文脈を手紙にしたことで, このMAPletterを人に贈ることが可能となり, 気持ちを伝えると同時に旅を勧めることができる。
