本論文では, 輸送障害時において旅客自身の判断を促すための可能性情報を, 路線図上で列車の運転状況の統合として可視化(Possibility Visualization)する方式の具体例を提案する。本方式は, ある路線が不通等になった際にそれを知らせるだけでなく, 代替経路(並行する路線)がある場合にどの経路を利用するべきか, またその経路の運転状況は今後どのようになるかを統計データに基づいて計算し, 旅客が予備知識なしに判断しやすいよう可視化するものである。この方式によって, 旅客が自身で代替経路や運転状況を確認する必要のない鉄道情報提供が実現し, 顧客満足度を向上させることが可能となる。
