本研究では, 通常腎癌に比較して透析腎癌では血管密度が低くmTORの活性化の頻度が高いことが明らかとなった。加えて透析腎の尿細管では恒常的にmTORの活性化が確認され, 透析腎癌の発生にはこの恒常的活性化が反映されている可能性が示唆された。さらにはチロシンキナーゼ阻害剤への暴露によってmTOR経路がさらに活性化することが明らかとなり, 治療抵抗性の一因となっている可能性が示唆された。 In dialysis-related renal cell carcinoma, mTOR was more strongly activated compared with conventional renal cell carcinoma. In addition, constitutive activation was also found in renal tubular cell in dialysis kidney, which would affect dialysis-related cancer initiation. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors accelerated mTOR activation in dialysis-related renal cell carcinoma.
