放射性物質による汚染が野生の小型哺乳類に与える影響を調べるため, 汚染レベルの異なる4地域から小型哺乳類を捕獲し筋肉中の放射性セシウムの濃度(筋Cs濃度)を計測した。その結果, 筋Cs濃度はトラップ地点の地表での空間線量率と相関していた。またアカネズミの尿中8-OHdGの濃度を測定したところ, 筋Cs濃度と弱く相関していた。さらにマイクロサテライトおよびミトコンドリアCytb遺伝子における遺伝的多様性を比較したところ, 変異の増加は見られなかった。この事は放射線被曝がアカネズミの酸化ストレスレベルにわずかに影響した可能性があるが, 集団の遺伝的多様性には大きな影響を与えていない事を示唆している。 To detect the effect of radioactive contamination on wild rodents, we examined concentrations of radiocesium in skeletal muscles and bones of rodents that were caught in four localities with different contamination levels. The concentrations of radioactive cesium were correlated with the air-dose rates at the individual's trapping points. We also examined the concentrations of urinary 8-OHdG and genetic variation in two genetic markers (microsatellites and Cytb gene) of the large Japanese wood mouse (Apodemus speciosus). The 8-OHdG concentrations were weakly correlated with the radiocesium concentrations in muscles and bones, while the genetic variation at population level did not. These results suggest that the low-dose irradiation has a little effect on the level of oxidation stress of this species, although it did not influenced on the genetic variation at population level.
