これまで狭頭症で生じる頭蓋形態メカニズムは明らかにされていない。その理由としていくつか動物モデルは存在するものの, ヒトとの頭蓋形態が異なるために正確にヒトの病態を反映しているとは言いがたいためである。今回われわれはヒト頭蓋骨のCTデータをもとにコンピュータ上に本疾患を擬似的に作成し, 病態の発生シミュレーションを行った。コンピュータ上に作成された頭蓋変形と実際の臨床患者とを比較することで, 新たな病体メカニズムの理論を構築するに至った。そしてこれまでの術式を見直し, 術後の頭蓋がどのように変化していくかの検討を行い, よりよい術式の開発に至った。 Craniosynostosis does not reveal the mechanism of their cranial deformities. Some animal models are existed, however they are hard to say to reflect the condition of a patient of the Homo sapiens because the cranial form between Homo sapiens and animal models are different. So we made this disease on a computer based on the CT data from the human skull, and performed computer simulation. From this results, we created a new theory of craniosynostosis by comparing between the real clinical patient and the cranial simulated skull. Furthermore, we reviewed a conventional method and performed the examination that how the postoperative skull changed and developed the development of a better method.
