長時間のVDT作業に伴う非シェーグレン症候群タイプのドライアイ(VDT群)を対象として, シェーグレン症候群ドライアイ群と正常群で比較し, 涙腺における分泌顆粒(SV)の蓄積がVDTドライアイに関連するか否かを調査した。組織学的所見の解析結果より, VDT群の涙腺にはSVが過剰に蓄積していることが判明した。以上のことから, VDT群ではVDT作業による瞬目低下の影響で, 涙液の産生は行われているが分泌が障害されSVが蓄積するという新たなメカニズムの関与が考えられた。 In this study, we focused on a human VDT work-related dry eye. The lacrimal gland biopsy specimens from VDT-related dry eye patients were compared with specimens from Sjogren's syndrome patients and autopsied normal controls. The purpose of this study is to elucidate whether SV accumulation is involved in VDT work-related dry eye in human subjects. Our analysis of lacrimal gland showed that the increased SV accumulation. Based on our findings, we hypothesize a new mechanism for VDT work-related dry eye, in which a tear secretion disorder probably related to a decreased blinking rate leads to an excessive accumulation of SVs.
