本研究は, アジアで普及しているTaiwan23F-15クローンに由来するgenotypic penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae(gPRSP ; 遺伝学的なペニシリン耐性菌)が相同組換えによって病原性の高い莢膜型3型をコードするcps遺伝子座領域を獲得し, 結果として表現型が血清型3型のgPRSPとなった株の最初の報告である。またこの株の出現は, KK0981の組換え領域における遺伝子配列が, 近年分離された血清型3型のKK0381の遺伝子配列と完全に一致していたため, 近年起こったとが示唆された。 The present study is the first report of a genotypic penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae (gPRSP) derived from a Taiwan23F-15 clone prevalent in Asia that acquired a cps-locus region encoding a type 3 capsule by homologous recombination, resulting in emergence of gPRSP of serotype 3. Additionally, this recombinant event most likely occurred in recent years because the nucleotide sequencein recombination region of KK0981 were completely consistent with these of KK0381 of serotype 3.
