閉経後の女性に好発する難治性の呼吸器感染症である肺非結核抗酸菌症の感染と発症について, 性ステロイドホルモンとの関連性を検証するために疫学研究を行った。研究の結果, 年齢が高いことに加え, 女性ホルモンの一種である血中のエストラジオール濃度が低いことと肺非結核性抗酸菌症の発症に関連があることが示唆された。 We conducted an epidemiological study to investigate the relationship between sex steroid hormone and pulmonary non-tuberculous mycobacteriasis, which is a refractory respiratory infection common to postmenopausal women. As a result of the study, it was suggested that higher age and lower serum estradiol were associated with the onset of pulmonary non-tuberculous mycobacteriosis.
