大気重力波の自発的な放射過程について, 理論的および数値的に研究を行い, 一定の成果を得た。f平面浅水系においては, 様々な渦的流れを用いて, 重力波の定量的調査を行い, 高低気圧の非対称な重力波放射を世界で初めて報告した。また, 3次元系では, 新たな自発的放射理論の構築と, 数値実験による自発的放射の反作用の定量化に成功した。これまでのこの研究領域の成果により, 「地球流体における渦からの自発的な重力波放射の研究」として, 日本流体力学会の2016年度学会賞(竜門賞)を受賞した。 Spontaneous emission of atmospheric gravity waves is investigated by analytically and numerically. In f-plane shallow water system, asymmetry of cyclone-anticyclone has been reported for the first time. In 3-dimensinal system, new radiation theory has been constructed. Furthermore, back reaction of gravity wave radiation is quantitatively estimated by numerical simulation. Those achievements have been prized by the Japan society of fluid mechanics.
